G8 2009 (L'Aquila, Italy)
As 2009 was drawing to a close, Italy's stint at the helm of the G8 group of countries, reached its conclusion.
It had been a year packed with meetings and initiatives that culminated in the July Summit (From La Maddalena To L'Aquila ), when the heads of state and government leaders of the G8 countries, expected to meet and debate with over 30 delegations.
A total of 40 participants ranging from the G8 member countries themselves to the countries in the G5 group were expected: the countries in the MEF (the Major Economies Forum), the member countries of the African Union, the international organizations and hosts of other countries were invited.
With the start of 2010, the Italian presidency expected to pass it to Canada, which would be organizing meetings at ministerial levels, and hosting the G8 Summit in the region of Muskoka (Ontario, Canada).
Well… And the human being is still debating.
